Folks always want simple cause and effect, and generally are skeptical of statistical probabilities, but of course, there are no absolutes (unless you're talking CREAM, and a few other matters of fact), so it's only to be expected that everyone goes to one extreme or the other on climate change biz these days. It's also the case that political and societal change work best with near absolutes, and in their absence, folks always polarize to achieve effect.

Is this why you always capitalize CREAM :)

Ha! I do it for the DEAD, and for CLIFF. It started for no real reason other than to distinguish them in some singular fashion, and a long forgotten battle fought here at the Forum in which those using all caps were standing out, and then taking abuse, and asked to calm down. CLIFF did post a few responses in all caps, and I thought it was funny at the time, so I used if for him, and maybe a few others.

And there's another "deep history tidbit" for the Forum.

Then, it just became a little idiosyncratic aspect of my life here, ya know?

"ROBTHEWORDSMITH" is just too much though, eh? Even if he deserves the respect, I are a lazy slob.

Mostly.

It's because of disappearing pirates!

LOL, that's great. I think it definitely SHOULD be taught in schools. But students should only get credit if they also notice the flaw in the argument: namely, the graph indicates only 17 pirates. This is demonstrably untrue. (See Somalia.) Hence there are only a few possibilities:

(a) There have been emails among scientists about suppressing this evidence;
(b) The Somali pirates do not impact global warming because the Spaghetti Monster is Eurocentric (which makes sense because he's, well, spaghetti); or
(c) The Spaghetti Monster changed the graph because He does not wish to be discovered by those who are in league with his nemesis, tomato sauce.

Flying Spaghetti Monster, that would be a great name for a band.

Kind of like Flying Burrito Brothers.

Gram Parsons would be so proud.
